Confirmation seminar presented by Pengcheng Fan

Autonomous vehicles (AVs) offer the potential to revolutionise human mobility and commuting,
However, accidents involving AVs occasionally occur, and therefore it necessitates more accurate, rigorous, and adverse testings.

To this end, we propose the concept of Trajectory Generators (TGs) empowered by a multiple-level
comprehensive assessment framework (CAF) and data-driven techniques. TG are used to produce
high-fidelity trajectories resembling real-one with various driving style. The CAF will address issues related to both evaluation and training. Finally, this research will utilize well-trained TGs to establish a rigorous testing environment for AVs involving the creation of intricate and complex traffic dynamics.

This research will provide valuable contributions to AV testing and traffic modelling (theoretical
and practical), with a dramatically improved understanding of the futuristic AVs technology.

About Confirmation Seminars

The purpose of the confirmation milestone is to ensure that the candidate receives appropriate feedback in relation to the viability and progress of the thesis project and that the resources required to complete the program of research within the recommended timeframe are available. It is also an opportunity to ensure that the candidate has demonstrated the capacity and capability to successfully complete the thesis in a timely manner.
