Assessing the risk of oligomictic conditions in subtropical reservoirs

Regions, such as southeast Queensland, where irregular rainfall occurs require surface water storage reservoirs for urban and agricultural water supply. There is an increased risk to the quality of water from permanent stratification due to increasing drought frequency and atmospheric temperature rise. This research addresses the risk of surface water reservoirs to transition to permanent stratification and directly informs future water supply strategies.
