Winner of the Ryuichi Kitamura Best Paper Award from the Transportation Research Board, 2014. Award given annually for the outstanding paper published by the Section on Travel Analysis Methods. Paper by Jiwon Kim and Hani Mahmassani, How Many Runs? Analytical Method for Optimal Scenario Sampling to Estimate Travel Time Variance in Traffic Networks.  

The article Elastic stress analysis of partially loaded hollow discs was recognized by ScienceDirect as one of the Top 25 papers published in International Journal of Engineering Science in 2012. It was written by Mehdi Serati (UQ RHD Student and CSIRO), Habib Alehossein (UQ & CSIRO) and David J. Williams (UQ Professor).

The article Strengthening of steel structures with fiber-reinforced polymer composites was recognized by ScienceDirect as one of the Top 25 papers published in Journal of Constructional Steel Research in 2012. It was written by J.G. Teng (Honk Kong Polytechnic University), T. Yu (University of Wollongong) and Dilium Fernando (Institute of Construction and Infrastructure). Dilium is now a UQ lecturer.

A Survey of Experimental Results was recognized by ScienceDirect as one of the Top 25 papers published in European Journal of Mechanics B. Fluids in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. It was written by Hubert Chanson (UQ Professor).
